WALLMANSTHAL LAND RESTITUTION PROJECT 2014/5
The Wallmansthal Project is a Government initiative within the Gauteng Province that aims to establish a Vibrant Integrated Socio-Economic Development Settlement. The project aims at promoting economic growth, employment creation and social upliftment through conserving and developing the historical, natural and cultural heritage of the area and enabling many South Africans to experience tourist attractions and resources for the community in and around the project area.
The Hon Minister Nkwinti, MP, met with the entire 446 Community on the site of the restored land in Wallmansthal (March 2013) and a decision was taken that a Reference Group of ten Social Cohesion Committee Members and ten Technical Committee Members will be chosen. Each of the committees has elected a chairperson together with a secretary. Both these committees will be led by a coordinator who would ensure that both committees complement each other through their work.
